Creative Ideas for Your Town
- Build a Mini Metropolis: Print several different houses to create your own unique street with shops, a school, and a bakery.
- Seasonal Decor: Color the houses in orange and black for Halloween, or add “snow” and bright lights for a magical Christmas Village.
- Magic Lantern: If you cut a small hole in the bottom of the finished house and place an LED tea light (battery-operated candle) inside, your house turns into a cozy nightlight!
How It Works
- Color: It is best to color all the parts while they are still on the flat sheet. Colored pencils, markers, or crayons work perfectly.
- Cut: All outlines are ready: just carefully cut out the pieces along the lines.
- Fold and Glue: We have included special fold lines and glue spots to make the assembly easy and clear.
Technical Printing Tips
To make sure your model is sturdy and aligns perfectly, keep these tips in mind:
- Paper Choice: We recommend using heavy paper or cardstock (160 to 200 gsm). Standard office paper is too thin and may warp from the glue.
- Printer Settings: All files are created in A4 format. When printing, select the Actual Size or 100% Scale option.
- Important: Make sure the Fit to Page option is turned off. Otherwise, the printer might shrink the parts, and they will not match up during assembly.
- Note on Paint: It is better not to use water-based paints, as the moisture can warp the paper and ruin the shape.
Pro Hacks
Perfect Folds: To get sharp and professional-looking edges, slightly “score” the fold lines along a ruler using the tines of a regular fork. I show exactly how to do this in the video instruction on each house page: every step of the assembly is shown there in detail.
